Join the Startup Survival School at Casper College
CASPER, Wyo. — Casper College is hosting a free mini-event for entrepreneurs and startup owners on Tuesday, Feb. 25 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Startup Survival School is crafted as a mini-TEDx series featuring dynamic speakers aimed at individuals looking to start a new business, work within a family business, or those facing challenges in launching their startups. Makayla Ruebush, the Director of Admissions, emphasizes the event's focus on practical insights and strategies.

Four business tracks will be available:
- Brick-and-Mortar Business
- Online Business
- Mobile Business
- Put Me Wherever
Registration opens at 8:30 a.m.
Keynote Speakers and Sessions
The day kicks off with keynote speaker Ari Burback, a local fashion designer and owner of GARMS 1 of 1, who will be featured at Paris Fashion Week in March. Following the keynote, attendees can choose from three sessions, each with three presentations:
- Session 1 (10 a.m.):
- Mike Stepp on “Management Essentials”
- Pastor Jim Shade on “Foundations of Business”
- Heidi Foy on “Unique Challenges of Online Business”
- Session 2 (10:50 a.m.):
- Bri Martin on “Resilience and Strategy – Building Success in Real Estate”
- Sharon and Brad Climer on “Navigating the Unexpected – Learning From Past Mistakes”
- Ari and David Starcevich from Copper Cup Coffee Co. on “Differentiating Yourself in a Competitive Industry”
- Session 3 (12:15 p.m.):
- Laura Hunter on “The Reality of Online Selling”
- Ben Winckler on “How to Build Your Brand”
- Adam Amick on “Utilizing Tools Without Going Luxury”
Closing Keynote
The event will conclude with Jim Chappelow, a Casper College business instructor, presenting on the “Entrepreneurial Mindset” at 1:30 p.m.
