Overview of New Orleans Entrepreneur Week 2025

The New Orleans Entrepreneur Week (NOEW) is back and set to take place from March 24-29, 2025, across multiple locations in the city, culminating in two days of exciting programming at Loyola University New Orleans. This marks the 14th year of this free, weeklong celebration of entrepreneurship, bringing together over 100 speakers and panelists to discuss business, technology, innovation, and culture.

Partnership with Loyola University

This year, the Idea Village, a nonprofit business accelerator and founder of NOEW, has partnered with Loyola University to co-produce this transformative event. The festival will coincide with the New Orleans Book Festival at Tulane University, enhancing the entrepreneurial spirit across the city.

Robert "Bobby" Savoie, dean of Loyola’s College of Business, expressed enthusiasm, stating, "Bringing NOEW to campus is going to take our entrepreneurship program to a whole new level." This collaboration aims to provide outstanding networking opportunities for participating businesses and students alike.

Highlights of the NOEW Summit

The NOEW Summit, previously held at Gallier Hall, is designed to attract entrepreneurs, investors, students, and anyone invested in the city’s future. Key highlights include:

  • Spotlighting South Louisiana entrepreneurs.
  • Discussions featuring Matt Wisdom (former TurboSquid CEO) and Chris Meaux (Waitr founder) on entrepreneurship and AI's impact on startups.
  • Insights from Jim Odom, founder of PreSonus, on building and selling a global music tech company.
  • A panel featuring Walt Leger and Jon Atkinson discussing the future of the New Orleans brand.
  • Conversations with hospitality veterans about the future of hospitality and nightlife in New Orleans.

New Approach to Pitch Competitions

Unlike previous years that culminated in a pitch competition, this year's NOEW will feature presentations from three startups that completed the Idea Village's accelerator program, supported by the Momentum Fund launched last year. Additional pitch competitions will take place throughout the week.

The event will conclude with a panel discussion focusing on "My Black Country," a memoir by songwriter Alice Randall.
