Lucy Guo, a remarkable Artificial Intelligence entrepreneur, has made history by becoming the youngest self-made woman billionaire at just 30 years old, surpassing pop icon Taylor Swift. Here’s a closer look at her impressive journey and how she built her fortune.

Lucy Guo's Net Worth

According to Fortune, Lucy Guo co-founded her AI company Scale AI in 2016. Although she left the firm in 2018, she still retains about 5% of the company's stake. Her net worth is estimated at $1.25 billion as per Forbes.

“I don’t really think about it much, it’s a bit wild. Too bad it’s all on paper haha,” Lucy shared with Forbes.

How Did Lucy Guo Accumulate Her Wealth?

Despite leaving Scale AI, Guo's 5% stake has proven valuable as the company is currently finalizing a tender that allows early employees and investors to sell their shares. Scale AI is valued at $25 billion, marking an 80% increase since last May. This surge significantly boosted Guo's net worth to approximately $1.2 billion. Additionally, her involvement with her second startup, Passes, has contributed to her current estimated net worth of $1.25 billion.

Who is Lucy Guo?

Lucy dropped out of college while studying computer science to co-found Scale AI at the age of 21 with Alexandr Wang, who was just 19. Wang became the CEO while Guo managed operations and product design. They both made it to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in 2018, but Guo left the company due to a difference in vision with Wang.

“We had a difference of opinion but I am proud of what Scale AI has accomplished,” she stated.

After her departure, Lucy co-founded Backend Capital, a venture capital firm, and later launched Passes, where she currently serves as CEO, providing monetization tools for content creators.

A Rare Feat

With her incredible achievement, Guo joins the ranks of only six self-made women billionaires globally who are under 40. Previously, Taylor Swift held the title at age 35 but now ranks second with a net worth of $1.6 billion.
