Cognigy Relocates Headquarters

An artificial intelligence startup, Cognigy, is making a significant move by relocating its U.S. headquarters from the bustling San Francisco to a spacious new site in Plano, Texas. This transition is aimed at accommodating future growth.

Cognigy, which operates its global headquarters in Germany, focuses on customer-service automation and has an impressive roster of clients including Toyota, Nestle, and DHL. The company has successfully raised approximately $175 million, including a notable $100 million in a recent funding round.

Why North Texas?

According to Joe Havlik, vice president and North America general manager, the decision to move to North Texas was driven by its business-friendly environment and rich access to talent, complemented by a robust university scene. The Dallas-Fort Worth area also offers a strategic central location with direct flights globally and shorter domestic travel times.

In the next few months, Cognigy plans to employ about 50 workers in North Texas, with a goal to expand this number to approximately 150 to 200 within three years, particularly looking to hire in marketing.

A Growing Hub for Tech Companies

The Dallas-Fort Worth region is becoming a magnet for various industries, especially technology. Recently, Care.com also announced its relocation from Austin to North Texas, while other companies like Simplilearn have made similar moves.

Havlik remarked, “The business environment in Dallas has always been top-notch, and it’s only continued to get better.”

Cognigy operates additional locations in the U.K., Australia, and Japan, with plans to keep its San Francisco office operational during the transition.

Innovation at Its Core

Philipp Heltewig, CEO and co-founder of Cognigy, stated, “Dallas offers the perfect mix of innovation, energy, and opportunity.” The company is revolutionizing the customer service industry with its AI agent platform, which serves as a digital workforce for contact centers, offering support in over 100 languages. Other notable clients of Cognigy include Frontier Airlines and Bayer.
