Sidenote is a browser extension that allows you to live chat or comment on any page of the internet. Unify your community conversations and stop creating accounts to discover what people are saying online.Hello Product Hunt! 👋

I’m thrilled to share my first release and join the ranks of product launchers!

To quickly address some of the most common questions: "Does it work on..."

  • YouTube? Yup.
  • Amazon? Yup.
  • Google Search? Yup.
  • Product Hunt? Yup.
  • Your website? Yup. 👀

Sidenote was born from my own frustrations with the current state of community conversation online. I was tired of needing separate accounts for every site I wanted to comment or live chat on—be it blogs, Q&As, shopping sites, social media, or entertainment. A large number of pages don't have support for either.

Along with this, I find myself immediately going to the comments when I read something that I find interesting or don't understand. When there isn't a place for comments, I'm left sifting through search results and forums trying to find someone who has had the same issue before.

Now we can all leave those days behind. Sidenote provides both a community comment section and live chat completely free of charge.

I am going to be hanging out in the live chat on this page for the day, drop in and say hello!

  • DallinHey @dalurness, Really cool one, loved the world chart most. Reminds me of the kind of fun conversations that happens over Reddit comment history. Congratulations on the launch 🚀Hey @dalurness really nice, looks like Disqus comments on steroids 💪🏻

Group conversations per page would be an amazing feature to add.

Congrats on the launch 🚀@crebuh https://sidenoteapp.com/share?no...Hi Dallin! Big congrats on reaching this milestone for Sidenote! How does the social graph work? Any plans to draw from X or Discord to find friends? (In my experience those are platforms where my highly-online friends hang)more than chatting it helps me with remembering what context i had when reading the page. awesome and helpful tool.
