Almost a year ago, I discovered AI-based deception detection and became captivated by the possibilities. I realized that, whether we like it or not, digital polygraphs will become a regular part of our lives in the near future, marketed by businesses and governments as "safety measures."

At first, I was hesitant to develop this tool due to its potential negative implications. However, after speaking with our existing user base, I recognized the significant positive impact it could have. From enhancing security measures to improving transparency in various sectors, the benefits and the need for this tool became clear as day.

Initially launched as LiarLiar.ai with no clear target audience, I soon understood the seriousness of the subject. It requires a professional, scientific, and academic approach.

Today, I'm excited to introduce PolygrAI Desktop—a PC application that analyzes videos, meetings, and interviews in real-time, providing dynamic risk assessments, sentiment analysis, and emotional state analysis.

Behind the simplified risk assessment score is extensive scientific research and data. PolygrAI collects audio and visual data, utilizes neural networks, and identifies cues academically linked to deception. These cues include heart rate fluctuations, blinking patterns, eye gaze shifts, hand gestures, voice fluctuations, specific keywords, and more.

PolygrAI Desktop is the result of nearly 100 customer interviews, transitioning from the complex, performance-heavy interface of LiarLiar.ai to a streamlined, user-friendly technology.

In addition to the interface make-over, we have started to actively collaborate with criminal psychologists and polygraph experts all around the world, which are helping us improve our software's deception detection accuracy.

PolygrAI is designed for non-tech-savvy users who want to engage in critical conversations without having to read numerous books on body language and human psychology. It alerts you when deeper investigation into a topic is warranted.

Despite 12 months of hard work, the software is still evolving. We are committed to achieving both user experience excellence and high accuracy, and we are on the right path.

I see the positives of this tool, but I also see the negative potential of it. Current AI models, hallucinate, they all do, with NO exceptions. Human beings are ALL different, we act differently, someone may have a nervous tic, that presents itself in either an interview, or stressful situation.

For example: I once interviewed someone who had passed every test he'd ever taken, graduated top of his class 4.0, valedictorian, couldn't talk in an interview when being questioned, you would've thought he was being interrogated for murder!

To a hammer everything is a nail. What's my point with that statement? To a Criminal Psychologist everyone is potentially a criminal. So while I see the benefit of collaboration, I see the extreme bias in it as well.

I see people being denied jobs, because of some perceived slight, flaw in their character that was determined by the software with no concrete evidence of having done anything wrong.

I say this, and I'm not opposed to the idea, but just want to put out there my reservations, I'm sure you've thought about most of it, but looking through your website, I don't see enough proof that you've addressed those concerns successfully.

I eagerly await hearing from someone who uses it actively, or seeing a demo for myself, or even talking to you about it. Are there any legal considerations with this type of tool? I expect some businesses would be afraid of accusations of discrimination.@jack_michalak Hey Jack! We don't offer a free trial yet. We will start offering it once we switch to a subscription-based pricing model. So far, there is no exact legal framework regarding digital polygraphs, however, we are anticipating one as soon as solutions like ours become increasingly popular. Similar to the conventional hardware polygraphs, the results it outputs should only be taken into consideration along with other relevant pieces of information and lots of context, and never as a basis for final judgement. Potential discrimination due to false positive would only occur if the interviewer, who is using PolygrAI, is not following our Terms of Use and Guidelines. PolygrAI could only give you indication of behavioural fluctuation, but cannot give you an answer to a question.The concept of real time deception analysis is fascinating.
